Description of the Project:
Constantly increasing demand on wire rod on domestic market and high export potential of this product speak well for construction of new industrial facilities for wire rod production. The plant for copper wire rod production with annual capacity of 24 000 tons will be located on the area of 4,4 ha. Total plant output will provide up to 4,5% of demand in the Russian market of copper wire rod.
The project envisages construction and erection works, acquisition and installation of advanced Italian equipment made by Continuus-Properzi for copper wire rod production. This process is based on the original technology of fire refining of low-grade copper scrap and off-cuts, which allows production of copper wire rod with higher technical characteristics (higher thermal endurance and tensile strength as well as series of other specific factors), for particularly extra strong cable of electrification catenary system of railway transport. Continuous casting and rolling line by Continuus Properzi S.p.A. comprises 80 ton fire-refining furnace, casting machine, rolling machine and mandrel coiler. The line is designed for continuous melting and casting processes as well as copper rolling to produce wire rod with nominal capacity of 11 t/h, given the availability of relevant amount of the rolled material. The latter goes from refining furnace, which capacity is 80 tons of molten metal per day. Diameter of the wire rod produced is from 7,2 to 22,5 mm; intermediate diameters are pursuant to the request of the customer.
Characteristics of the Buildings and Facilities of Industrial Site:
- Main production building is a one-floor facility (Í = 10,2 m) of rectangular form 144 õ 90 m. Five spans of 18 m each. Carcass is metal; walls and roof are made of sandwich panels. The building is divided into two parts: workshop for nonferrous scrap processing and for perspective development. In the former workshop the following zones are singled out: scrap preparation, production line and end-product storage. Production building is connected with the administration building by a walkway.
- Administration building is a 4-floor facility 15 õ 22 m, the height of the floor is 3,6 m. The building is constructed with brick load-bearing walls heat-insulated by mineral wool with further plasterwork. Covering is done by means of prefabricated reinforced concrete plates. Foundations are of solid reinforced concrete.
- Compressor station is a one-floor brick building, rectangular-plan with the dimensions of 12 õ 25 m, height - 6 m. Foundations are of solid reinforced concrete. Covering is of prefabricated reinforced concrete plates, flat and soft roof.
- Gas distribution substation, transformer substation, artesian well, sewage pumping station, check point are one-floor brick buildings with the height of 3 m. Foundations - solid reinforced concrete, covering - prefabricated reinforced concrete, roof - flat and soft.
- Gas boiler house is designed for heating and hot water supply of the complex as well as process steam supply. Capacity is 9 Gcal/h.
- Gas distribution substation is built for gas pressure reduction and its maintenance on the set level. Capacity is 1200 m3 /h.
- Transformer substation consists of the room for high-voltage switchgear 10 kV from the cells and two transformers of foreign production 10/0,4 kV with the power of 2000 kVA each, with solidly-grounded neutral and a room for low-voltage switchgear 0,4 kV from the cells of foreign production.
